Spicy Mexican Green Sauce

Intro

If you’re a fan of bold and zesty flavors, then this Mexican Green Sauce recipe is a must-try! Packed with the perfect blend of heat and freshness, it’s incredibly versatile and can elevate any dish, from tacos and burritos to grilled meats and roasted vegetables. Let’s dive into this quick and easy recipe.

A Fiery Foundation: The Peppers

The heart of our Mexican Green Sauce lies in the vibrant and spicy peppers we use. With 5 jalapeños and 1 serrano pepper, you’re in for a fiery treat. Adjust the heat by removing some or all of the seeds for a milder sauce, or leave them in for an extra kick. Poblano peppers are great if you like a milder sauce with a fantastic taste just add one in place of the serrano. Naturally if you like spicy you can add more serranos.

Balancing the Heat: Onion

To balance the heat of the peppers and add a subtle sweetness to the sauce, we add half a yellow onion. This step not only enhances the flavor but also provides a rich texture to the sauce. Other options to add some acid would be tomatillos or a little extra lime!

Freshness with Cilantro

To infuse our Mexican Green Sauce with a burst of freshness, we incorporate 1/3 cup of cilantro. This herb complements the heat of the peppers and adds a vibrant green color that’s visually appealing. Parsley would also work well here if you don’t find yourself with any cilantro on hand.

The Perfect Blend: Grapeseed Oil

The key to achieving a smooth and luscious texture is the use of 1/3 cup of grapeseed oil. Its neutral flavor allows the other ingredients to shine, creating a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.

With these simple steps and a few fresh ingredients, you can whip up a batch of Homemade Mexican Green Sauce that will become your new kitchen staple. Drizzle it on tacos, use it as a dip, or marinate your favorite meats – the possibilities are endless. Give it a try and watch how it transforms your dishes into culinary masterpieces.
